Before hearing of this matter on October 10, 1997, the parties entered into an agreement
concerning the issues to be presented to the Administrative Law Judge Division. By this agreement,
the Petitioner, South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing.& Regulation - Division of Labor,
agrees to reduce the penalty assessed against the Respondent, HRC Armco, Inc., to SEVENTY-FIVE

to assure that wage deductions are actually used to obtain the benefits for which the deductions have
been authorized by the Respondent's employees. The Respondent also agrees to withdraw its notice
of protest.
I have reviewed the terms of this agreement and find that it is consistent with the purposes of
the South Carolina Payment of Wages Act and in the best interest of the public.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the agreement between the parties be approved and that
this protest be dismissed.
