ORDERS:
ORDER AND DECISION
This matter comes before me pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. § 1-23-310, et seq. (Supp. 1995)
for a hearing pursuant to the application of James D. Hawkins, RJ's, Inc., d/b/a RJ's Lounge and
Grill. The petitioner seeks an on-premises beer and wine permit (AI 107320) and a sale and
consumption license (AI 107321) ("minibottle license") for a nonprofit private club located at
1601 Highway 72/221 East, outside the city of Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.
After timely notice to the parties and the protestants, a hearing was held at the
Administrative Law Judge Division on July 15, 1996 in Columbia, South Carolina. There were
two protestants of record. By letter filed May 23, 1995, protestant Randy Ouzts withdrew his
protest. Furthermore, protestant Lois McAllister failed to appear at the hearing or to make a
Motion for a Continuance, thereby, waiving her protest. Therefore, there is no opposition of
record to the petitioner's application. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that this matter is
dismissed.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Department of Revenue and Taxation continue to
process the application of James D. Hawkins, d/b/a RJ's, Inc. for and on-premises beer and wine
permit and a minibottle license for a location at 1601 Highway 72/221 East, outside the city of
Greenwood, Greenwood County, South Carolina.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
