ORDER

This matter comes before me on the motion of the Consumer Advocate for the State of South Carolina to intervene in the above captioned case. The basis for the intervention is that pursuant to S.C. Code Ann. § 37-6-604 (Supp. 1993), the Consumer Advocate is authorized to represent the interests of consumers in proceedings before the state regulatory agencies when there is a request to fix rates or prices for consumer products or services. Catawba Insurance Company has requested a hearing on its application to increase rates for private passenger automobile insurance.

Pursuant to Rule 24(a) of the South Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure, which is applicable to proceedings before the Administrative Law Judge Division, and Rule 20 of the Temporary Operating Procedures for the Administrative Law Judge Division, the Consumer Advocate for the State of South Carolina is entitled to intervene of right. ORDERED that the Consumer Advocate for the State of South Carolina shall intervene of right in the above-captioned matter.
